During this time, you will be free to watch the millions of bats emerge from the cave and conquer the sky. You need to be fast since the member event will fill up quickly. Usually, this event will be held on the month of May to October. It only cost $30 to become a member of the group. You are also allowed to bring up to three participants.
2. Texas, Congress Avenue Bridge
Bracken Cave may be the largest colony of bats in the world, but Congress Avenue Bridge is the biggest urban colony of the bats. It is composed of around 1.5 million of Mexican free-tailed bats. The period of August to September is the perfect time to watch the bats since this is the time when the activity of the bats is at its highest point.
4. California, Yolo Causeway
The largest population of bats in California can be found in Yolo Causeway. Simply driving in the area will allow you to watch the bats emerge from their colony. For those who want a safer and more convenient option, you can join the tour offered in the area. The tour will involve a presentation that will last for 45 minutes. After the presentation, you can now watch the 250,000 bats fly to hunt insects.
