Fort Worth Bat Removal Tip:

4 Types of Noise that Bats in the Attic Will Make

Once you hear the strange noises in your attic, you can probably rule out the presence of ghost in your house. The scraping, scratching and squealing can likely be a sign of infestation. It can be squirrels, rats, mouse, raccoon or a bat. A colony of bat dwelling in your attic can cause a significant disturbance in your daily life. The noise that they will make will happen at night that will disrupt your sleep.

Kinds of Noise That Bats Will Make in the Attic

Before you even have a sighting of the bat in your attic, you will mostly hear the peculiar sounds that it produces. By paying attention to these noises, you will be able to thwart the infestation before your house can incur a great deal of damage. Here are some of the noises that bats will commonly produce while they are in our attic.

1. Scratching Noise

If you are hearing the scratching noise, this is commonly a sign of bats that are living under your insulation. This is probably the sound of their claws scratching the surface of the drywall. Most wildlife removal experts will receive complaints and calls pertaining to the scratching sound that they hear from the attic. Before doing any bat exclusion project, you will have to rule out the other possible source of noise such as siding, electrical and plumbing problems.

2. Fluttering Noise

Sometimes, the scratching sound will not be enough to tell that you are dealing with bats. However, once this is followed by fluttering or flapping noise, then this can be a sign of bat entering or leaving the roosting site. This is a sound that comes from the wings of the bats. Wings can also be sometimes used to crawl that can sometimes be related to the scratching noises.

3. Vocal Noise

Bats are known for producing high-pitched noise that is not audible to the human ear. However, some species of bats are known to create vocal noises that humans can hear. Some of them will also create clicking sound using their tongue and will release it through their nostrils. If you have a device that can record the ultrasonic sound they produce, you can easily distinguish the presence of bats in your attic.

4. Chirping Noise

Bats can also produce chirping sounds, but it is unique compared to the birds. You will usually hear them at night. If you have a few bats in your attic, you may not be able to hear the sound that they produce. Bats are usually quiet creatures. However, once there is a large colony of bats, it will not be unusual to hear the chirping sound that they produce.

Pay attention to the sounds that the bats will make, and you will be able to catch the infestation before they can even cause havoc in your attic. You can also look at the signs that they will leave behind such as the irritating and putrid odor and the piles of bat guanos.
